Thoughtful?

Today Noah was helping Grandma Jean make cookies. This involved some oatmeal being spilled on the kitchen counter, which my OCD boy then had to clean up. In the process of trying to clean the counter a good amount of the oatmeal ended up on the floor, which Dexter quite enjoyed. So Noah started throwing pieces of oatmeal at him. To discourage this I put the dog outside. Noah climbed down and started trying to shove oatmeal under the door so the dog could still have some.....crazy kid.

Wanna be like Daddy

This is Noah's imitation of putting a belt on like Zander.

Genetics

Sadly it's looking like Noah has inherited his Mommy's poor skin. I've had pretty bad eczema my entire life, pregnancy is making it really bad, and now Noah's is flaring up again. His Dr. was awesome though and gave us a new prescription to try out, and was nice enough to look at my skin as well so I don't have to go to the dermatologist.

Kids say the Darndest things

Zander was laying on the floor on his stomach working on his laptop. Noah comes up to him, lays on his back all cute and snugly like, and says "I POOPED!"

Dinner Story

Last night we had super nacho's for dinner. I knew that Noah wouldn't be able to handle full on nacho's, so I gave him some chips, olives, and taco meat. He informed me he wanted some salsa too, so I gave him some...and he ate it by the handful for dinner, occasionally dipping a chip or an olive in it, but really, he had salsa for dinner last night.

Random Noah Stuff

I know that it's fuzzy, but it's too funny to not share. Yes, he's naked, except for socks and a diaper, and yes, he's wearing my shower cap, which he put on all by himself.

Evidently at roughly age 2, girls don't have cooties yet. They walked around the house holding hands for a long time. Ok, really like 2 minutes, but for these two, that's a long time!

And yes, they're wearing my shoes

He thinks it's funny evidently.

35 Weeks

This week Kaden is estimated to be 18 inches long, and just over 5 pounds. Sometimes it feels like he weighs more like 15 pounds and he can stretch out to be 3 feet long, but that's just my perception of it. His kidneys are fully developed and his liver is starting to work.

I haven't let you know what Noah's been doing for a while, so here's his list.

Successful potty trips the last 3 days
Creating sentences like "I throwed it!" or "I farted!"
Jumping and actually getting both feet off the ground
Helping with EVERYTHING
Being absolutely adorable 99% of the time

Gaining fat
Lungs developing
Would survive if born

33 Weeks

This week Kaden is about 4 pounds, and roughly 17 inches long (like a pineapple). His skeleton is starting to harden up and he's looking less and less alien. His heart rate is great, and he continues to prove to us that he's a total spazz. When they were doing the ultrasound of my kidney's etc in the hospital the other day, they said that he's got lots of hair, which is always nice to hear.

Conversations with a Toddler

This is the conversation that Noah and I had in the car yesterday. (translations in parentheses)

N - Lala? (Where's Isabella?)
E - She's sick.
N - Oh
E - remember last week when Daddy had a big owie on his back? Lala has an owie now (I figured that would be easier to understand than she's sick, cuz we're never sick)
N - Bonk? (she fell down and bonked her head?)
E *chuckle* yup, she got a bonk.

Elbows and Knees

Kaden has decided to prove to me that he has them.

32 weeks

Kaden is roughly 4 pounds now, and is about 17 inches long. He'll be gaining about 1/2 pound a week for the rest of the pregnancy, which really is only 7 weeks away. Due to the complications we had with Noah, and my smaller size, the Dr.'s only gave us about a 60% chance of being able to have him naturally, so we are opting to do a C-section. It'll be scheduled at least a week before his actual due date, and we'll be setting the exact date this coming Friday. I'll let you all know when I find out.

Personally I'm still feeling really great. I'm tired, and it's certainly a lot harder to carry Noah up the stairs, but I really feel good. My ankles haven't swollen, and half the time I'm too busy cleaning, organizing, and playing with Noah to remember that I'm even pregnant, much less almost done with being pregnant.

Rocking Horse

Noah's Papa Frisco made him this horse as a baby shower gift. After almost two years of trying to figure out what it is, how to get on it, and how to STAY on it, Noah's decided it's a pretty darn cool toy.

Potty Time

For the last couple of nights as part of Noah's bedtime routine, we've been putting him on the potty and asking him to pee. It's resulted in him being much more aware of his diaper, and a couple of times he's informed us that it needed to be changed. And tonight, he peed on the potty for the first time! He evidently thought it was hilarious cuz he tried really hard to push some more out. You know you're a parent when you are excited about bodily fluids.

30 weeks & a dog

Little baby is now about 16 inches long and weighs about 3 pounds. He's very active and likes to kick his poor mama in all sorts of places that really shouldn't be kicked, unless of course you're pregnant - which I am - obviously. (improper usage of hyphens, I know)

Noah is crazy as ever, and constantly learning new words and tricks. The tricks this last week all involve my mom's poor dog Dexter. Evidently it's pretty hilarious to kick the dog, and step on his feet when he's sleeping cuz it makes him get up really fast and run away. Oh, and it's lots of fun to feed him your breakfast.....*sigh* kids.

Bellllo

Tonight Noah successfully drank water (or as he calls it, belllo) from a cup without ANY help. He was doing a great job, drank almost the entire cup with only a few little spills. We were congratulating him lots. Then he decided to spit the last couple of sips out. *sigh* Boys. Time to change his clothes.

29 weeks!

Well we're officially one week into the third trimester of this pregnancy. I still feel really great and for the most part don't have that awkward pregnancy feeling to me yet, though the belly is definitely getting bigger on an almost daily basis. Baby has stopped somersaulting and has gotten himself "stuck" with his head down by my left hip, and his feet, of course, under my right ribs. After 2 boys destroying my ribs, they may never be the same. Statistically he's about 2 1/2 pounds and about 15 inches long, like a butternut squash. He's fully developed and just plain growing at this point, and his head is getting bigger and bigger to make room for his brain. Noah still has no idea what's going to happen, but he gets really excited when he sees his cousin baby Laura, or any baby at the grocery store.

Noah logic

I handed Noah his snack cup with cereal in it for breakfast this morning. Here's the conversation that followed.

E - Do you want to sit in your chair or on the couch?
N - Couch. Show?
E - You think you get to watch a show?
N - YEAH

It was so cute I had to give in.
